Mary Coussons-Read,
Ph.D. is a recognized scholar in behavioral science and an experienced
leader in organizational development and communication. Her academic
background is concentrated in
human behavior, stress management, and
mind-body relationships. She has extensive real-world experience in
deepening organizational communication, enhancing dynamic leadership, and

goals. Her training and experience in the behavioral sciences also
helps make Mary a great executive and life coach.
Dr. Coussons-Read
has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in behavioral and health
science and has over 15 years of mentoring experience. A special focus of
her expertise is stress management and effective organizational
communication, and she brings a combination of on-the-job experience and
scholarly background to her work with CPM. This combination uniquely allows
Dr. Coussons-Read to work with individuals and organizations to craft
creative and positive strategies to improving performance and communication
in the most challenging situations. |

"I was at a point in my career where I
needed an outside counsel to help me focus on my strengths and eliminate
the day-to-day distractions that were holding me back from achieving my
personal and professional goals. I reached out to Dr. Mary Coussons-Read
to provide me with guidance direction that would help me focus on what I
know best – myself. In the few months that I have been working with her,
I have a new energy and focus towards my career. She has taught me how
to better manage my expectations of others and provided me with tools
towards communicating effectively. Prior to beginning sessions with a
life coach, I was hesitant to express my business ideas feeling that I
was surrounded by co-workers who had, as I perceived, exceptionally
strong opinions. Often, when I was not in agreement with them, they
argued strongly against me. I felt as if my contribution to the company
was not valuable and that I was not looked upon as an integral member of
the team. In working with Dr. Mary Coussons-Read, I have been able to
assess the situations that cause me to feel this and delve into the root
cause of why some of the working relationships I have are met with
resistance. I have discovered that the feelings that I had about not
being valuable to the group where the result of me feeling personally
attacked. I took a big step forward when Dr. Mary Coussons-Read helped
me discover that taking constructive comments (albeit sometimes
irrelevant) personally was erroneous. She showed me that some of the
combative dialogue was the result of people reacting to me in the only
way that they know how to behave with no regard for how it is being
perceived by others. In essence, the comments were not personal attacks
towards me and would likely have been said to in my position. In our
sessions Dr. Mary Coussons-Read, has worked with me to develop
strategies enabling me to speak my mind more effectively, indirectly.
Recently, our firm has modified our business development plans to
attract more business as a result of my suggestions and ideas without my
co-workers viewing me a threat. In this instance, I used a less direct
approach that allowed my co-workers to develop ideas on their own. By
allowing them to take ownership these ideas, I was empowered to take
control of my thoughts and ideas and turn them into reality. Through our
sessions, I have developed better communication skills that have been
helpful in expressing my thoughts and ideas to my co-workers who are not
typically open to new ideas for our growing business. I would highly
recommend Dr. Mary Coussons-Read to any individual or group of
professionals that are looking to find the right formula that will lead
towards a more effective management style.” - COO, Denver
Investment Company
“Mary brings a strong combination of professionalism and compassion
to her coaching and mentoring work that helps clients find meaningful
paths to change. Her sense of humor and ability to help clients and
groups reframe problems are powerful tools. I highly recommend her as a
mentor and coach.”- Professor of Communication, University of
Colorado
“Mary offers a professional and
compassionate approach to coaching. Rather than only affirming positive
steps taken, Mary also identifies areas for improvement and encourages
action plans to achieve goals. Her approach is to validate and provide
support in areas where improvements are made, and to provide
constructive advice on achieving other important goals. Her insights are
important and relevant. Her messages are clear. Her delivery is warm and
constructive. Her goals are identified and realized. I am very grateful
for the opportunity to work with Dr. Coussons-Read. Her coaching and
mentoring is nothing short of exceptional.” - Assistant Professor,
University of Colorado, Colorado Springs
“Mary has a strong coaching
style-engaging and respectful-while moving things forward toward a
productive conclusion. This all combines to bring an engaged joyful
presence that is truly one of the strongest relationships I hold.” - Assistant
Professor of Education and Counseling Psychologist
“Having had the privilege of working
with Dr. Coussons-Read recently, I can personally attest to her
excellence in providing lucid, intelligent, and clearly applicable life
coaching skills. As a part-time pharmacist and mother of two young
children, with a husband who works a chronically erratic schedule,
organization is a continual struggle. Dr. Coussons-Read helped me
isolate a core and manageable list of key elements to focus on. The
resulting springboard into a significantly clearer organizational plan
has been invaluable. Dr. Coussons-Read has substantial experience and
academic background in human behavior, stress management, relationships,
communication, and strategic planning. I have every confidence that she
could help anyone find a systematic way out of chaos into that
frequently elusive world of organization and peace of mind.”
- Pharmacist
"Corporate Psychological Management has been a tremendous asset to me within
my career. I have been able to present the situation, receive
recommendations, and begin immediately applying them as soon as I walk out
the door. Mary [Coussons-Read] lead me through some wonderful role-plays
that were so well crafted that I would often not realize I was in a
role-play until after we finished. The benefits have been far reaching and I
continue to see results based on the support provided. Many thanks!" -
